The Salop Leisure Shropshire Premier Bowling League has created a new Hall of Fame for our bowlers to recognise their efforts and achievements in the league. The league made a shortlist of 10 players they felt were deserving of a place in the Hall of Fame and the five chosen are below, along with what they said on receiving this special award.
Rich Goddard – I am honoured to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. I would like to thank all the clubs for voting for me and look forward to the 31st March at Donnington Wood.
Colin Beaman – It’s a great honour to be inducted into the first Hall of Fame and would dedicate this achievement to my family for their support over the past 25 years and ex and current team mates for “getting around the green” and helping me become the player I am.
Andy Moss – Thank you very much, I am really honoured. I have always enjoyed playing in the league and also representing it outside the county. Thanks again.
Pete Farmer – Thank you very much for the honour. I am really looking forward to receiving it and playing in the Anniversary Competition.
Tony Rhodes – Very simply, humbled. You all know I wear my heart on my sleeve and have always had the Premier League as my number 1 league. Forget the Summit, our Premier League top to bottom is the best. I’d like to think my record holds up as the most wins table shows and I’m proud to be in such quality company. I’ve been on the committee for a while and have played my part at St Georges. Things like this mean the world to me.
These players will receive their awards at the Anniversary Competition on Sunday 31st March at Donnington Wood.
The idea is to induct a further player each year into the Hall of Fame, presenting their award at the Presentation Evening, maybe starting from this years.
