Castlefields won 10-6 on the Bylet to move into second place and 11 points behind the leaders Sir John Bayley. Captain Alan Peach says it was a “great win at the Bylet on a very difficult green which is very unkind to all bowlers. We lost 2 games 21-20 in the first 4 to go behind 3-1 due to magnum Glyn Herbert bowling very well to win first 4. We shared the middle with Andy Judson and Kevin Price both winning. We had 3 winners at the back making it 6 winners each but won the agg by 12. It was a good team performance by our lads. We had 3 players out and the players that came in didn’t let us down. It was a very good atmosphere from both sets of players and supporters and we wish Bylet all the best for the remainder of the season.” Best winner for the Fields was Mike Beer 9 while Dan Davies was best winner 10 for the home side, whose 15 match unbeaten home run ended at the same team who last beat them on there.
