Newport made it through to a home final after beating St Georges by 13 on Meole Brace. Despite having 7 winners, there was only two cards over half way. For Newport it was Phil Emery who won 10 and St Georges it was John Cooke 9. Wem USC made their second straight final with a 15 shot won over Wrockwardine Wood at Chester Road. Captain Scott Thomas led the way 7, with Liam Stevens best winner 12.
Highley made the Pool B final in their maiden campaign with a 21 shot win over the Bylet on Sir John Bayley. Highley spokesman Rob Burroughs says “it was level after the front four after Gary Cooper played very well for them to win 9 with Reece our star man 8. Scott Harries did very well to win 12 from 8-0 down to keep them in the game. We took the game away in the back four with three winners, Dave Scriven always up to win 9 while Stuart Gittings virtually ran out from level pegging to win 9 and seal the match.” Chester Road put behind their league troubles to reach the final and look for their first ever triumph. They beat Ifton by 32 at Hanmer, with captain Paul Fowles commenting “wednesday night was a good win against a strong Ifton team. We played well and we’re so pleased to win and make the final.” Martin Lloyd was best winner 6 for them with Martin Jones replying for Ifton 9.
