Salop Leisure SPBL bowlers dominate last Severnside Competition

The Salop Leisure Shropshire Premier Bowling League dominated the third and final Severnside Mixed Singles Competition as a former Doubles winner and a former Merit winner won the competitions. 2013 & 2015 Mike Hinton Pairs winner Callum Wraight went one better than last week in the main competition and beat ex Castlefields team mate Clay Flattley in the final 21-16, who has moved back to St Georges. Callum had beaten another St Georges player in the Semi Final, Ian Gaut 17 while Clay was beating Warwick and Worcester County player Tom Palmer 19 in a close battle.

In the consolation and again three Shropshire players made the last four, but it was 2012 Shropshire Premier Bowling League Merit Champion Rob Roden who won out, beating Castlefields’ Daryl Edwards 19 in the final. Daryl beat Colin Beaman of Shrewsbury rivals Meole Brace 12 while Rob edged out Dan Petcher of Derbyshire 20 in the Semi Finals.
