Wrockwardine Wood Open 2017 Preview

The 2017 Wrockwardine Wood Open takes place today and Hanwood’s Greg Smith is hot favourite to win the title for the first time. He takes on Gordon Hawkins of Sir John Bayley first game. Another two of our players clash in Burway’s Kiah Roberts, who recently won the Dennis Lewis Open, taking on playoff man of the match Mike Dulson from Wem USC. His Wem team mate Derek Wright enjoyed a fine season individually but has a tough task in Adam Patrick first game. Sir John Bayley’s Chris Worthington takes on Aaron Steele from the Potteries, while Ian Gaut from St Georges faces a tough task in Derbyshire star Dan Petcher. Newport’s Mark Selley faces a race to be fit after injuring his ankle this week, if he does he plays former Hadley USC player Paul Hemming. The other two ties sees Russ Prosser against Michael Warrington while Ed Wallis plays Paul Patrick.

So get yourself down to Wrockwardine Wood and see some class action to finish off this season.
