Castlefields win League!

Castlefields won their 10th Salop Leisure Shropshire Premier Bowling League championship after beating Hanmer 13-1 tonight. Despite Newport having a fine 13-3 win on the Bowring, it wasn’t good enough to close the 15 point gap at the top of the table. The Fields have now won 12 on the bounce, and have St Georges’ record of 14 straight wins to go after.

It wasn’t all bad news for Newport though as Pete Farmer won tonight to win the League Averages for the second consecutive year, as Mike Beer lost on Castlefields. However Mike can still take home some prize money for finishing in the top three, with Callum Wraight now above him and Russ Pegram below, with Mike and Callum knowing a home win next week will see them gain some prize money.

The league and Salop Leisure would like to congratulate Castlefields on their league win, and to Pete Farmer for winning the League Averages.
