St Georges won the Alan Mayhew trophy for the second time tonight.  They were never behind after Man of the Match Craig Barker won 21-16 in the first four and they  eventually won by 30 chalks against current league leaders Chester Road.  Full story to follow……….

The “Mike Hinton” Man of the Match award, adjudicated this evening by Mike Hinton himself was presented to Craig Barker, who  won 21-16 against Charlie Weaver.

The final of the Alan Mayhew Trophy between Current League Leaders Chester Road and their closest rivals St Georges will be held on Wednesday 30th June at Severnside No.3 Shrewsbury (Fullwood Green) commencing at 7.00 pm. The referee will be Dave Card.

Chester Road, entered the competition at the preliminary round stage and registered a comfortable win over last years league runners up Castlefields by 45 chalks, before beating last years Alan Mayhew beaten finalists Wrockwardine Wood by 31 shots. In the semi final they defeated Shrewsbury based Meole Brace by 12 shots.

St Georges, also entered the competition at the preliminary round stage and beat last years Alan Mayhew trophy winners Donnington Wood by 58 chalks. In the quarter final, they defeated Ifton by 14 shots overall. In the semi final they defeated Ford by 11 shots .
