The Sir John Bayley pairing of Alex Jones & Tom Roden won the 2022 KGJ Insurance Mike Hinton Pairs after beating Mother and Son Angela & Martin Gaut, who became one of the first females to enter the competition alongside Cheryl Caswell. They won 17 in the final, coming back from 9-3 and 16-8 down to level at 16 across and then concede just one more. In the Semi Finals Tom & Alex defeated Phil Jones & Gary Whitehall 16, leading 10-3 and 15-7 early on, and then resisting a comeback at 17-16 up to run out. Ange & Martin were 8-2 down versus Josh & Roy Bradburn, but then led 10-8 and18-14, and despite a 3 from Roy & Josh, they ran out winners 17. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Quarter Finals, Josh & Roy beat Cheryl Caswell & Scott Harries 2, Ange & Martin defeated Phil King & Jim Fletcher 19, Alex & Tom had a narrow win against the two Petes Farmer & Grimston 20, and Gary & Phil got past Aaron King and Ayden Smith 18. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
