Victorious joint captain Stuart Gittings said “I have to commend Newport and the green for being in such good condition especially considering the weather we had received. Chester Road were a worthy opponent who were a bit vocal enjoying the first half of the match as their opening 4 bowlers played extremely well. We were happy in a funny way to be only 6 shots down (proving the point that good losers can win you games!) The final 4 matches started off not too well from our point of view but eventually we got to grips with the green and managed a couple of decent cards which enabled the last couple of games to be reasonably comfortable.
