Pete is top of the all time league averages for the Premier League, having won 430 games overall. He started his bowls in 1976 at Four Crosses, before moving to Childs Ercall and then Hadley USC in the Premier League. He won the first ever League Merit, and has added five since, a record. He helped Childs Ercall into the league in 1999, and won his first League Averages that season too. He has won that three more times, and the most consecutive wins 4 times too. He won them both the last two seasons, the first player to have done this. He also won 30 straight games over the 2017 and 2018 seasons, a record. He has also won two league titles with St Georges and 5 with Newport, as well as other Alan Mayhew Trophies and Pool A shields. Outside of the league he has won the County Merit 4 times, as well as reach the final of the All England and has won many other big titles.<\/p>\n

My first memories were playing for Hadley and I played along side some really fantastic influences for bowls, e.g. Brian Shore, Billy Ball, JD Moore, Mick Price.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Who was the biggest influence on your bowling career?<\/b><\/p>\n

People from the Four Crosses, Chubby Harris, Mick Lea, then the Hadley Team.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

What do you consider to be your best individual performance in the Premier League?<\/b><\/p>\n

Playing Callum at St Georges and winning 21-2. Probably one he would like to forget. Any game against him is usually a very good game.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

What do you consider to be your best team performance in the Premier League?<\/b><\/p>\n

Newport winning back to back Premier League championships.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

What was the highlight of your bowling life?<\/b><\/p>\n

Playing at the Waterloo when it was first televised and having my Dad in the crowd watching me.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

What has been the lowlight of your bowling life?<\/b><\/p>\n

Losing in The All England Final in Barrow in Furness. I lost to Darren Smith.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

What are your favourite\/most memorable greens in the Premier League?<\/b><\/p>\n

Favourite green has to be St Georges. I enjoy playing on them all!<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

What nicknames do you have? How did they come about?<\/b><\/p>\n

Amos \u2013 obvious with my surname<\/p>\n

Crow Slayer \u2013 incident with a crow, which didn\u2019t turn out well for the crow!<\/p>\n

Pedro \u2013 Alan Palins nickname<\/p>\n

Egg mon \u2013 used to sell eggs from my smallholding<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

What memorable matches have you played in or watched in the Premier League?<\/b><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t enjoy watching as I\u2019d rather be playing. Winning the premier league with Newport is always memorable, especially when it gets down to the last few matches!<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Nothing, it all goes over my head!<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

What changes would you like to see to improve the Premier League?<\/b><\/p>\n

The scoring system for last years league for home\/away wins was a good change I feel.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
