Highley are bottom and host an out of form Meole Brace side. Captain Stu Gittings knows it is a “huge game for us Friday night as we’re bottom by 1 point so need a good result, 10-4 minimum really. The green is a bit two paced at moment as was on it Tuesday night, it is brown and green still. Having said that I am confident in our guys and looking forward to Meole Brace as they are a good side and good company.” Wem USC have a tougher game at home to second placed Sir John Bayley, who are trying to rescue a poor season and finish in second place. They are a point ahead of Castlefields in 3rd, who travel to the Champions Wrockwardine Wood, who are still looking to beat the record total of 269 points. Hanwood are in 4th place, four behind 2nd, and have a home tie against the Bylet, who desperately will need the points at the bottom with the other two teams around them playing at home. St Georges are 5th and are at home to Chester Road, who have been in great form in the second half of the season. Burway are holding onto 7th at the moment but face to a trip to the most in form team in the league, Ifton, who are unbeaten in 6 games. Newport could take 7th off Burway, but will need a big home win against Hanmer. Skipper Ayden Smith says “a much needed win is needed. The last home game for the season with a pretty much brand new team. we are aiming to rebuild again next season and push on. I just want to say on a personal note thanks to all players who have played for Newport this season, it’s been a blast!” Hanmer are now virtually safe and can catch Newport with a good result at theirs.

Week 25 Fixtures:

Highley v Meole Brace

Hanwood v Bylet

Wem USC v Sir John Bayley

Wrockwardine Wood v Castlefields

Ifton v Burway

Newport v Hanmer

St Georges v Chester Road

Home games for Highley & Wem, Tough away game for Bylet, Battle for 2nd hots up There are big home games for Highley and Wem USC in week 25 of the Salop Leisure Shropshire Premier Bowling League.
