Burway get first win, Hanwood whitewash, Hanmer impress again<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Burway got their first win of the season in week 8 of the Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League. Captain Jesse James says “we are happy we got the win and put a gap between us and them. A long way to go yet, so we move onto\u00a0the\u00a0next\u00a0game.” Kiah Roberts was best winner 6, while captain George Williams was best for the away side 14. Hanmer matched Burway’s win as they kept up their impressive form against St Georges. Skipper Ieuan Pugh said “playing St Georges we knew it was going to be a tough test. The plan was keeping up our good form and that’s what we did. We knew we had to set the tone early against them and not allow them to gain any momentum in the game and that’s what we did and built from that. 1 to 12 it was a good performance. We wish them the best for the rest of the season.” Dave Ellison was best winner 6 with opposition captain Tony Rhodes best winner 15. Hanwood went better than both teams as they whitewashed Adderley 14-0. Captain Rich Lawson was “really pleased to get a good home win and a bonus that we managed to have a full house of winners as we managed to win the close games. On another night Adderley may well have had 3 or 4 winners. The green was the quickest we’ve had it this season which really helped. We have got some tough games coming up so hopefully this gives us some confidence going into them. All the best to Adderley for the rest of the season.” Best winner was Shaun Bould 21-6. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Castlefields got a 10-4 win over Highley to stay top of the table. Callum Wraight and Adam Jones were best winners 7, with Danny Statham best for the visitors 9. Sir John Bayley matched that win against Wrockwardine Wood. Tom Roden was best winner 7 with Steve Broome best for the Wrockites 8. Bylet had a good win over Ifton 8-6 to keep their good run going. Scott Harries led the way as captain winning 3, with Craig Griffiths being best for the Miners 8. Chester Road had their best win of the season at home as they defeated Meole Brace 11-3. Ben Hinton continued his impressive form being best winner 1, while Dave Redge was best for the visitors 6. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Castlefields are 2 points ahead of Sir John Bayley at the top, with Hanmer now 3rd, 7 points behind. Wem USC are 10 behind Adderley at the bottom, with Highley another 5 ahead. Mike Beer and Rich Lawson are now the last two on 100% records. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
