Old rivals clash, Wrockites have two home games, North & South Shropshire Derbies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two old rivals clash in week 9 as St Georges host Castlefields in week 9 of the Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League. The Dragons captain Tony Rhodes knows it is a “very difficult game against the best team in the league at the moment in my opinion. We hope to correct last year’s loss and as ever will not give points away lightly.” Opposite skipper Adie Rowe acknowledges it is “another big game for us, as always we will be up for the challenge. St Georges are a tough side and I’m sure they will be up for it as well. We have a couple of changes but have a lot of depth in our squad.” Wrockwardine Wood are 11 behind the leaders Castlefields but have two home games in 24 hours to try and close that gap. Captain Rob Jones says we are “disappointed to only get four last week away at the Bayley so Chester Road Friday then Meole Brace on Saturday in a double home fixture gives us an excellent opportunity to put some points on the board at the start of an important\u00a0six\u00a0game\u00a0run.” Chester Road come off a good home win against Meole Brace, who will be wanting to bounce back at home to Burway this week. However Burway had their first win of the season last week and will be wanting to build on that, whereas the team they beat, Wem USC, know they need to win against North Shropshire rivals Hanmer to close the gap at the bottom. Hanmer though are in 3rd after some excellent results this season, and will be going to Wem knowing they can win there. Ifton have had a couple of close losses the last two games and will be wanting to return to form at home to Hanwood, but the visitors come off a whitewash against Adderley. Adderley have taken just 2 points from their last two games and will know it won’t get much easier against a good Sir John Bayley side who have won their last two away games. There is a South Shropshire derby as Highley host Bylet. Highley captain Reece Farr said “we\u2019re looking to continue our good form at home to climb the table, on the back of a four good winners at Castlefields the lads are up for it. A good win and a few beers back in the Black Horse with a bit of banter will be a perfect\u00a0Friday\u00a0night!” Bylet have been up and down so far with a win at Wem USC and then against Ifton last week, and came so close to winning at Highley last season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
