Meet the West team below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
1. Rich Lawson (Hanwood) –<\/strong> Captain<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Rich is the current Shropshire Merit winner after having a great season in our league, a former League Averages and Mike Hinton Pairs winner. He is captaining Hanwood this season, after captaining Bowring for so many, meaning his leadership skills could be valuable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 2. Simon Lane (Hanwood)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Simon has settled in at Hanwood after moving there in 2019 from Ludlow Castle. He is on course for his best season there this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 3. Jon Palmer (Castlefields)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Jon is now a regular at Castlefields after playing for them occasionally before. He is a former Autumn Waterloo Champion, as well as reaching the final of the Hadley Open earlier this season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 4. Wayne Rogers (Castlefields)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Wayne has been a consistently top player in Shropshire for a number of years, playing for Craven Arms, Burway and now Castlefields. He has won our League Averages, as well as the Shropshire Merit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 5. Doug Edwards (Meole Brace)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Doug made the move over to Meole Brace in 2015 after many years at the Prince of Wales. He has won at least half of his games every season since that move. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 6. Chris Jones (Meole Brace)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Chris is having his best ever season, having already won 17 games this season after moving to Meole last season, playing at Old Shrewsbury and Prince Hotel before that. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 7. Ian Metcalfe (Wem USC)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Ian started life in the league in 2016 with Ifton, staying there for 3 seasons before making a move to his current club Wem USC, where he has been a regular performer since, winning 15 games last season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 8. Colin Smith (Wem USC)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Colin is nearing 20 years at Wem USC, after starting in the league at Battlefield. He has been an ever present in the Wem team, his consistent performances earning him a place in the Senior County squad, after winning a season best 16 games last season. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Meet the West team below: 1.
