Bottom two away, Meole looking to strike, Hanmer looking for top half<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bottom two are away in week 25 of the Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League. Wem USC travel to the Champions Wrockwardine Wood looking for something similar to the 3 they got last season, while the Wrockites know a win should seal 3rd place. Adderley make a shorter trip to Chester Road, a green they are familiar with, but Chester Road will be buoyant after winning away on Friday. The leaders Sir John Bayley host Meole Brace knowing a good home win will put them on the brink of sealing the title. Meole are just two points behind Hanmer in 7th, but face two away games to close out the season. Captain Nick Davies said “we travel to the Champions elect Wednesday evening having spent the summer honing our footballing skills and practicing standing idly on the green with games in play for no apparent reason!! Joking apart it\u2019s going to be a tough task to get any sort of result against a very strong side. However, the Team are up for it and we\u2019ll try our hardest to not make it too easy for them and keep them honest as they seek the title.” Castlefields travel to Bylet knowing a big win is needed to have any chance of winning the league, while the Bylet know two home wins may improve their placing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hanmer are looking for their first top half finish in a 14 team league as they entertain Ifton, who are now concentrating on holding off Hanwood in 5th place. Hanmer skipper Ieuan Pugh said “it’s a team we know very well, so we know it’s going to be a tough test. We’ve had a great season so far so we are hoping to finish it off in style. We’ve got a chance of a top half finish so we will be fighting for everything.” Hanwood will look to overtake Ifton as they entertain St Georges, but the Dragons are in good form and know if they match Ifton’s score then they will seal 4th place. Captain Tony Rhodes says “year in year out we visit the Cock Inn and often don’t come away with maybe what we deserve. But that’s the skill of the home team closing games out. We are always positive though.” Burway take on Highley looking to close in on Meole Brace in 8th place, while Highley will be looking to keep close with them as they look to earn their second best finish in this league. Burway skipper Jesse James says “our final home game of the season, would be nice to finish with a win! I’d just like to take this opportunity to thank my players for a great season. Let\u2019s finish\u00a0with\u00a0a\u00a0bang!” <\/p>\n\n\n\n
