Nicky Jones qualified at Chester Road after defeating Ian Howell 7 in the qualifier. He had beaten Gary Whitehall 13 and Jamie Brookes 18 to get that final, while Ian defeated Dave Ellison 9, who had beaten Connor Whitehall first game 12. Gary Whitehall defeated Ed Proudlove 7 in his first game. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Former winner Martin Lloyd qualified at Meole Brace, along with Shropshire Merit winner Rich Lawson. Martin beat Michael Cooper 17 in the qualifier, resisting a fightback after Michael got back to 17 across from 17-11 down. after getting past Spencer Clarke 9 and Alex Jones 16. Rich Lawson defeated Gary Beff 11, going 17-8 up from 8-7 down. He had beaten Ben Hinton in his first game 17, while Gary got past Jon Palmer 17. Michael had beaten Stu Rutter 15 and Steve Heighway 10 in his two games before. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two Josh’s qualified at Sir John Bayley as Cotton and former winner Bradburn got through. Cotton beat Clay Flattley and Jacob Ash 20, before getting past Sarah Weaver 17. Bradburn defeated Ben Parkes 17 and another former winner Liam Stevens 18, Liam having beaten Reece Farr 19 and Aaron King 20. Sarah had got past Pete Farmer 17 and Bruno Heath 11, while Jacob beat Martin Gaut 13 first game, and Pete defeated Scott Moseley 13. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
