Horsehay face toughest test, Highley play Wrockites, Hanwood take on Dragons<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Horsehay face their toughest test in week 22 of the Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League as they take on the reigning and defending Champions Sir John Bayley. It is made harder by the fact that the Bayley contain some ex home players who grew up on the green, so spokesman Steve Reeves knows how tough the game will be. “We are looking forward to welcoming SJB to Horsehay this evening, having been away for the last 2 games it\u2019ll be nice to play at home. They don’t come much bigger than SJB at the moment though and we\u2019ll have yet another job on our hands to get some points on the board. But we will endeavour to play to our best and maybe sneak a few, and hopefully try to keep the other games tight as possible.” The Bayley need the points at the top of the table as Castlefields have closed the game to just 2 points, and the Fields host Adderley who come off just 2 winners in their last away game, but did fightback to win last week against Highley. Highley themselves have a tough test against Wrockwardine Wood, who will want to bounce back from just 3 winners at St Georges last week. Skipper Stu Gittings is “looking forward to Friday’s match. They have some top players on the green even if a few of them let themselves and the game down off it sometimes. They are a top side one that can challenge for the league so it will be a tough match but we\u2019ve hit a bit of decent form lately and will be expecting to win. My prediction 8-6 and a friendly\u00a0atmosphere.” St Georges make the trip to Hanwood looking to build on that win, but know Hanwood have been in good form recently at home. Home captain Simon Lane says “it\u2019s going to be a tough game, they beat us fairly convincingly at our place last season and we will be looking to not let that happen again.” Ifton are still above St Georges and have another home game against Meole Brace, with Meole having just lost by one in their last away game at Hanwood. The Bylet have been in good form recently and will look for another home win against Wem USC, but Wem have won there the last two seasons, however they have only scored three more than once this season so far away from home. Burway make the long trip up the A49 to Hanmer, aiming to bounce back from their home loss against Castlefields last week, while Hanmer will look for their first win in seven games. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
