Bayley gain on Fields, Horsehay get fab five, Wrockites bounce back<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sir John Bayley gained a point at the top of the league in week 23 of the Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League over their rivals Castlefields. They had a fine 11-3 win over Ifton, with Jackie Rutter, Stuart Rutter, Dave Lloyd and Alex Jones all best winners 9. For Ifton it was Martin Jones best winner 10. Castlefields won 10-6 away at Meole Brace to keep up their winning run, best winner being Ash Wellings 7. Mark Thomas was best for Meole 10. Wrockwardine Wood bounced back from their loss last week at Highley with a 13-1 home win over Bylet. Captain Rob Jones says it was a “really good win and performance from 1-12. Putting as many points on the board as we can in the race for third knowing we have holidays and availability challenges\u00a0coming\u00a0up.” Best winner for them was Chris Grocott 4 with the winner for Bylet being Grant Cooper 17. Highley built on that good win last week with 5 winners at St Georges, Frank Leek best winner 9, while for the Dragons it was Martin Gaut 10. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Horsehay got a great five winners on their first visit to Burway. Spokesman Steve Reeves says “we were really pleased to come away from Burway with 5 winners. We didn\u2019t start to well at all, but the lads stuck together as we have done all season and got behind each other to dig in and get some valuable points on the board. Special mention must go to Dave Clayton who played so well to be our best winner (9).” Best winner for Burway was Ben Allen 5. Adderley had a good home win over Hanwood 10-4. Skipper Gary Whitehall says it was “a good night with Hanwood as always and probably our most pleasing result or the season considering our recent scores against them. The pick of the games was Ryan Frost against Dave Payne, top class from both players and Dave\u2019s score not reflecting his performance!” Gary and Ade Jennings were best winners 6 for them, while for Hanwood it was Andy Jones 8. Wem USC beat Hanmer 9-5, Sarah Weaver leading the way 11 for the hosts and Graham Bennett and Joey Williams for the visitors with their 10 wins. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sir John Bayley are 2 ahead of Castlefields, who are another 25 ahead of Wrockwardine Wood. Horsehay are 15 behind the Bylet, who are another 23 behind Adderley. Callum Wraight is 3 wins ahead of Colin Smith needing one win to seal the League Averages. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
