The draw for the pre-playoff between Shifnal and Woore is below, being played on the no.2 green at Meole Brace tonight at 7 p.m. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both teams have named strong line ups, both featuring County players from Shropshire or Staffordshire. Andy Moss makes a welcome return to Premier League action after playing most of their games in the Whitchurch League for Woore, and leads the line at one, playing another experienced player in Andy Morgan. Darrell Handley against Dan Hand should be a good game, while the one current County player in the Woore line up, Martin Lloyd, takes on John Davies at number 5. Shifnal have gone strong in the back four, former county players Lewis Scott and Paul Reeves are there as well as captain Paul Beer and former Bylet player Rob Steventon, but Woore have former Premier League Averages Derek Wright in there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shifnal captain Paul Beer says “after a historic night for Shifnal BC winning MSBL Division 1 last Friday, a group of misfits who collectively are a good team, there is no doubt that Woore are a class act, a far more experienced team with quality all the way through and go into this pre play off as outright favourites! We will do our best on the night with the only 12 we can field and hope to make it a close game for the spectators. We go into this match in what some have described as ‘the biggest play off mismatch in history’ we will hold our heads high and give it a go. Your never know!!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Woore joint skipper Dan Hand says “our aim at the start of the season was to win a league to qualify us to have a crack at the playoffs. We have had a great season and have actually ended up winning two qualifying leagues. Everyone who has been part of this season deserves massive congratulations. We are now just two games away from where we want to be! Onto our opponents tonight Shifnal, I am fully expecting a tight game against a side that has come out on top against some very good sides and we will have to be at our best to progress to the playoff final on Friday.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n
