Wrockwardine whitewash, Burway back to form, Dragons edge home<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wrockwardine Wood whitewashed Meole Brace in week 22 of the Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League. Captain Liam Stevens said the “green was rock hard on Friday and not at all easy for visitors – Meole timed their visit badly on that front. Shout outs for Clay Flattley (best winner 5 with Sam Millward) who was immaculate and Will Childs who dragged himself over the line from 13-19. Good to see we’ve made progress this year – we will finish well above last year’s points tally – but also a lot to aim for in 2026 with the top two being\u00a0well\u00a0in\u00a0front.” Burway returned to form with a 13-1 win over Adderley. Skipper Adam Dovey says it was a “very good result Friday, I couldn\u2019t be there myself but amazing performance from the lads and really good to get back to winning ways. Hopefully carry on the form now!” Best winner for them was Russell Davies 8 with the winner for Adderley being Iain Wilson 17. St Georges edged home by 2 shots at Highley to win 9-7. Best winner was Gordon Hawkins and Nigel Evans 10, with Highley’s best being Dave East 13. Hanwood extended their lead in 5th with a 11-5 win at Bylet. Dave Burton was their best winner 3 with Grant Cooper the home side’s best 8. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The top two Sir John Bayley and Castlefields both won 11-3 against Ifton and Hanmer respectively. Best winner for the Bayley was recent George Davies Memorial Winner Owen Evans 8, with Ifton’s best being Martin Jones and Owen Jackson 13. Callum Wraight won 0 for the Fields, while Matt Beeston was best for Hanmer 11. Horsehay did gain a point on Hanmer as they got 4 at Wem USC, Neil Harris their best winner 14. Colin Smith was Wem’s best 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Castlefields still lead by 14 to Sir John Bayley at the top, with Wrockwardine another 18 behind. Horsehay are 19 behind Hanmer and another 6 behind Bylet. Scott Simpson still leads by 3 wins, and joins 4 other players on 11 wins. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
