Fields sneak clear, Burway back, Meole chase 8th<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Castlefields snuck another point clear in week 24 of the Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League. They beat Adderley 12-2 while Sir John Bayley defeated St Georges 11-3. Best winner for them was Adie Rowe 1, with the best for Adderley Connor Whitehall 10. For the Bayley it was Joe Dicken best winner 2 and Joe Killen best for the away side 8. Wrockwardine Wood in 3rd had a good 12-2 victory over Highley. Tom Killen was their best winner 4 and Dave East best for Highley 13.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Burway earned a good 11-3 win over Hanwood to keep themselves in with a chance of 5th place. Captain Adam Dovey said it was a \u201cgreat result Friday. All the boys played well against a good hanwood side. Hanwood are a good bunch so was nice to have a drink with them after, hoping to finish the season strong now.\u201d Adam himself was best winner 6 and Wayne Phillips best for the visitors 10. The battle for 8th is still in Wem USCs hands after they beat Ifton 10-4. Best winner was Gareth Davies 6 and Ifton\u2019s best was Oliver Jones 6. Meole moved themselves up to 9th after winning 12-4 at Bylet. Skipper Chris Jones says \u201cwe were very happy to pick up an away win on a tricky to play away green, looking now to finish as strong as possible as the end of the season approaches!\u201d Best winner for them was Camilla Parsonage 12 and best for Bylet was Rich Taylor 12. Hanmer beat Horsehay 9-5 to secure survival for another season. Lee Peate was best winner 21-2 for them and Gavin Bridge 21-12 for the visitors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Castlefields are 10 points ahead of Sir John Bayley, and Horsehay are 19 behind Hanmer. Scott Simpson has won the League Averages, and is one of five players to have won the Most Consecutive Wins award. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
