The\u00a0“Mike Hinton”\u00a0Premier League\u00a0Pairs, held at\u00a0Bowring\u00a0 Bowling\u00a0\u00a0Club, on\u00a0Saturday 6th May, was won\u00a0in its third year by the\u00a0St Georges\u00a0<\/strong>pairing of\u00a0Dave Rhodes\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Chris Grocott.<\/strong>\u00a0 It was especially sweet for Chris as he was runner up with Dan Hand in 2005.<\/p>\n

In a competition boosted by\u00a0 late entries on the day, 22 pairs from 9 clubs took part.\u00a0 After nearly 8 hours of bowling,\u00a0they\u00a0overcame\u00a0the Chester Road pairing of Charlie Weaver and Andy Duckett\u00a021-10 in the final.\u00a0\u00a0They were presented with the winners prize of \u00a3140 by the donor himself, Mike Hinton.<\/p>\n

In the semi finals\u00a0Rhodes and Grocott\u00a0beat Alan Davidson and Phil Emery (Newport) 21-20 and Weaver and Duckett beat the S J Bayley pairing of Scott Lambert and Dennis Mayhew 21-17.<\/strong><\/p>\n
