Woore host league leaders Castlefields having had a decent start to the season and currently sit in 7th place and know a top 5 finish could be on the cards. The Fields know a win is needed after a tough test last week at Burway in which they won with just 5 winners. Second placed Sir John Bayley have an easier test on paper as they travel to 13th placed Adderley. But Adderley skipper Gary Whitehall says “our aim for the second part of the season is to prioritise and encourage our younger players and also to introduce new players to the team and league, a tough game for us tonight against a good bunch of Bayley lads . We are well prepared for this match and haven’t cut the green since June 12th so will be interesting to see how they adapt! A great summers night for bowling, enjoy all.” 4th meets 3rd as Ifton host Wrockwardine Wood, but 23 points separate the two teams. Ifton skipper Dickie Jones says “we expect a tough game against a good young side who are always challenging for honours. We are at full strength so I’m hopeful of a good home result.”

Bottom side Bylet know they need some good home wins to try and bridge the 25 point gap, starting against Meole Brace. But Meole are another team looking for a top 5 placing and know a win there is a must to achieve that. Hanwood are currently in 5th and travel to a St Georges side coming off just 3 points in 3 games and will be looking to halt that run. Wem USC host Highley knowing the visitors have a good record with their green, but know they need a win if they are to make the top half. Hanmer make the long trip down to Burway with just 10 points between the teams, however Burway know with their home run in the second half they can move up a few places. Hanmer could though with a good finish make the top 10.

Week 16 Fixtures:

Adderley v Sir John Bayley

Woore v Castlefields

Ifton v Wrockwardine Wood

Wem USC v Highley

Bylet v Meole Brace

Burway v Hanmer

St Georges v Hanwood

North Shropshire trips for top two, 4th meets 3rd The top two make the trip to North Shropshire tonight in week 16 of the Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League in what could be the hottest Friday night of bowls we’ve had.
