Hadley USC produced the result of the night by beating Castlefields 11-3, days after losing 10-2 in the Summit League against the same team. They never looked back from being 3-1 up and once Jim Fletcher had won 8 for best winner and Kris Lewis 10 the aggregate was sealed. Callum Wraight took the Castlefields MVP and best winner by winning 14 and Dave Price took the MVP for the home side. Lee Bowden won 10 for his first Premier League win at number 12 to seal an excellent result for the Huskies. Vice-captain Rob Burroughs “couldn’t be more happier with the performance tonight against a team packed with class. After Monday’s result I thought we would do well to get a win but bowls is a funny game and it showed tonight as we completely reversed that result. Over in Wellington Sir John Bayley produced a good home win to beat Champions Newport 9-5. It was close most of the way through being 2-2 and 4-4 before a best of the night 4 win by captain Tom Roden and 7 by Steve Burroughs won them the aggregate. Norman Harvey earned MVP for the home side winning 14 and Pete Farmer was best winner for the visitors winning 11 and earning MVP. The result moves Newport 6 points clear of Meole Brace and moves the Bayley into 3rd place, while Castlefields move 5th from 7th.
