{"id":5324,"date":"2016-01-19T13:26:31","date_gmt":"2016-01-19T13:26:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thespbl.co.uk\/news\/?p=5324"},"modified":"2016-01-19T13:26:31","modified_gmt":"2016-01-19T13:26:31","slug":"scgba-delegate-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thespbl.co.uk\/news\/?p=5324","title":{"rendered":"SCGBA Delegate Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There have been a number of meetings since the end of the season with as you can imagine some \u00a0very lengthy discussions but I will and keep this short with some of the more significant points\u00a0for the forthcoming season.<\/p>\n<p>The BCGBA annual general meeting will be held on the 16<sup>th<\/sup> January at Winnington Park\u00a0when our delegates will be in attendance as there are quite a number of by-law and rule changes\u00a0up for discussion.\u00a0One of the main topics will be a proposal from Staffordshire regarding the provision of a\u00a0universal code of conduct to be adopted and put in the BCGBA handbook this based on the\u00a0existing Staffordshire model.<\/p>\n<p>Our own County has been considering a code of conduct also and it has now established a\u00a0committee which the County and all leagues will have to follow in the 2016 season.\u00a0The committee will comprise of Mike Potter, Barry Jennings, Brian Kitson, Mike Caddick,\u00a0and Phil Scott. If the BCGBA pass the proposal from Staffs then Shropshire will be adopting it.<\/p>\n<p>Referees delegate Rob Ellison reported that there had been a number of complaints\u00a0 regarding\u00a0the coverage of the Champion of Champions coverage with players breaking the rules. At this\u00a0event the referees were provided by Lancashire, however next year all referees will be\u00a0 appointed by the referees society.<\/p>\n<p>We have also lost a number of clubs with Abbey bowling club closing on the 30 September\u00a0and Ercall Magna has also gone. Reman services in Shrewsbury will not have the club\u00a0bar but they are currently working to ensure that the green is available so its a case of wait and\u00a0see on this one.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst on the subject of greens new rules are in place that if chemicals are being used on the\u00a0greens and its surrounds then your groundsman will be required to have the necessary\u00a0certificate in place.<\/p>\n<p>Reminders have also gone out to clubs regarding the registration of bowling members on\u00a0the NR1a forms this is something the County will be tightening up on and for 2016 checks will\u00a0be undertaken on eligibility of players through the Mike Beckett scoring system so please\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 ensure your secretary and or treasurer is made aware of this.<\/p>\n<p>It is proposed to have a new format for the County Cup with a \u00a320 entry fee for any\u00a0affiliated club to enter, to be played as before on neutral greens, with no Consolation Cup.\u00a0To replace this it is proposed to have a new competition called the Shropshire Cup playing\u00a0for the Burdass Cup. This is open to non-premier teams. Premier clubs who have entered\u00a0a team in the County Cup may enter a team in the Shropshire Cup(non-premier players only).\u00a0Entry fee \u00a320 free if the club has also entered the County Cup.\u00a0All competitions will run again and dates have been agreed and will appear as\u00a0will most of the changes on the Shropshire County Bowling Association Web Site.<\/p>\n<p>With the demise of the club at Reman this years AGM will be held at the Bagley Club\u00a0on Monday 1 February.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the meetings have been very poorly attended and Mo Corley has been instructed by\u00a0the Chairman Barry Jennings to write to all league Secretaries regarding this.\u00a0 Clubs should\u00a0also be aware\u00a0 when putting forward names of delgates to the association.<\/p>\n<p>There may be other issues that I have overlooked but I am sure John Coxill will\u00a0be able to assist if necessary.<\/p>\n<p>John Nash.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There have been a number of meetings since the end of the season with as you can imagine some \u00a0very lengthy discussions but I will and keep this short with some of the more significant points\u00a0for the forthcoming season.
