It looked like Newport had a good chance of going top after leading 6-2, but Meole rallied to get 3 more winners in the back and 5 in total. Best winner for Newport was Alan Davidson 8 while Phil Emery got MVP for winning 13. For the visitors Darren Wellings was best winner 9 and Craig Wilson won 16 for MVP. The two sides meet again next Wednesday in the 1st round of the Alan Mayhew Trophy.<\/p>\n<p>In the Black Tech Ltd Alan Mayhew Trophy St Georges won by 19 overall. It was a tale of 5 winners at each venue, but St Georges won by 40 at home and Hanwood won by only 21. Both best winners for the home sides were both 5, Wayne Phillips at Hanwood and Simon Rhodes at St Georges.
