There was success for those Flowfit Shropshire Premier Bowling League players that come over from Staffordshire as well as one Shropshire player. Three bowlers from Sir John Bayley and three from Wrockwardine Wood were part of the Willenhall Nordley side that won the Staffordshire Challenge Cup on Sunday, beating another seven players who have played in the league this season, playing for Penn. Paul Evans, Scott Simpson and Ant Bracken were from the Bayley and three Mark’s from Wrockwardine Wood; Mark Clayton, Mark Jones and Mark Picknell. Bracken, Jones and Clayton were vital in pulling back a 26 deficit going into the back four in what was a terrific tussle on Dudley Dell.<\/p>\n
But Penn bounced back well when they defeated the George on Monday night in the Summit Garage League playoff to earn their place in the Premier division in 2017. Three bowlers from Hadley, Rob Burroughs, Ben Dixon and James Duce, along with Bayley bowlers Gary Cooper and Jason Groom, all played their part in winning the game by 15, with Castlefields’ Elliott McGuinness playing for the George.<\/p>\n
