First on is Glyn Picknell of St Georges who takes on Dave Jackson from Macclesfield, while Isle of Man Winner Leighton Roberts from Ifton plays Jamie Dunn just below them. Castlefield’s Mark Taylor plays Tom Palmer, who is registered for the Fields, in the top quarter as well. St Georges have another qualifier in Pete Grimston who takes on Jason McLoughlin first round. Chris Ward of Sir John Bayley has a tough draw against Paul Bailey, while Ifton’s Andy Hughes aims for third time lucky after qualifying in the ECC and Meole Brace Opens when taking on Danny Edkins. Craig Wilson from Meole Brace must be in good form after beating Callum Wraight and Greg Smith first two games of the season and will have to play like that again when taking on Tommy Johnstone. Lewis Scott of St Georges plays Andy Cairns, while Gary Beff of Chester Road, who beat Gary Ellis in qualifying, hopes to build on that as he takes on Dane Hopwood.
