Wrockwardine Wood pair take the Trophy………..

The “Mike Hinton” Premier League Pairs, held at Meole Brace Bowling  Club, on Sunday 5th June, was won in its second year by the Wrockwardine Wood pairing of Rob Jones and Dale Downes.

In a competition boosted by  late entries on the day, 33 pairs from 10 clubs took part.  After nearly 9 hours of bowling, they overcame the Newport pairing of Daniel Hand and Chris Grocott 21-19 in a close and  exciting final.  They were presented with the winners prize of £170 by the donor himself, Mike Hinton.

In the semi finals Hand and Grocott  beat Dave Rhodes and Paul Reeves ( Donn Wood) 21-19 and Jones and Downes beat the S J Bayley pairing of Roger Teague and Terry Deakin 21-20.
