Castlefields v Hanwood
This is a repeat of the Semi Final in 2017 when Hanwood stunned Castlefields home and away. Hanwood are in the better form and joint captain Mark Shore says it is a “big game against the toughest of opponents. We will look to repeat our last semi final result against the Fields but know this will be a difficult task. It promises to be a belter of a match!” The Fields are the holders and will not be wanting to relinquish their hold on the trophy, and have some silverware to show for this season. Skipper Alan Peach says “Very difficult game against a good team. I’m sure there green will be pretty sharp. But we will give it our best shot, a bit of rain might help our cause.”
Highley v St Georges
Highley are the surprise Semi Finalists in their first season in the league, and will look to become the first team to reach the final in their first season. Joint captain Stu Gittings says “we are a little under strength due to holiday and work commitments. Having said that we have a decent depth in our squad so go into the Semi Final against St Georges with the intention of winning. We have done well in this competition so far with some good results, in the away leg especially. St Georges are a top side and have some excellent players. We are expecting a really tough close match, may the best team win!” Highley have already reached the Harris Cup final, but had the benefit of a decent handicap against Premier League opposition in that. St Georges have a proud history in this competition, but have not won it since 2012. Joint captain Tony Rhodes says “we go into the unknown really with only a couple of players seen or played the Highley green. They’ve proved themselves more than worthy member of the Premier League, and it is a Semi Final.”
