On this day last year Castlefields recovered from being 4-0 down to win 11-5 at Highley to gain a couple of points on league leaders Sir John Bayley, who beat Burway 9-5. St Georges also won 11-5 at Chester Road to keep them rooted at the bottom of the table. Hanwood had a great 13-1 win over Wrockwardine Wood, while Hanmer beat Bylet 10-4 and Ifton defeated Meole Brace 9-5. Wem USC only had 5 winners against Newport but won the aggregate by 4.
