On this day 5 years ago Ifton continued their excellent away form by winning at Hadley USC 10-4. Champions Newport suffered a shock 12-2 loss at Wem USC as second placed Meole Brace gained on them by winning 10-4 over Chester Road. Castlefields also won 12-2 at home against Burway, while Bylet and Wrockwardine Wood won 8-6 over Bowring and St Georges respectively. Archibald Worthington pulled off the comeback of the night winning 9-5 from 5-1 down to keep them in touch at the bottom of the table.
