2019 Review:
Castlefields just missed out on a 3rd straight title as they lost out by 5 points. They lost a few games by single figures which ended up costing them a valuable away win three times, losing by 3 at Meole Brace and Ifton and 4 at Wem USC. They did score an impressive win at the eventual winners Sir John Bayley 10-6, as well as at Hanwood 11-5 in the first two months of the season, but couldn’t quite hold onto the lead at the top of the table.
2022 Aims:
Castlefields will be looking to reclaim the title after two seasons of finishing as runners-up. The loss of Andy Duckett will be a big miss to them, but they still have enough experience and talent in their squad to be able to be at the top of the table. They will want to try and win those close games they lost out on in 2019 to maximise their points haul away from home, and maybe add a few more bigger home wins to improve their points total.
