2019 Review:

Hanwood had a great 2019 and were just a point off 3rd place. This was all despite a home loss to Castlefields in their first home game of the season, but they turned it round with an away win at Wem USC the next game. They had 7 winners at Hanmer and Wrockwardine Wood, and were starting to score big home wins as well, apart from that first game they scored at least a 10-4 win at home every other home game of the season. They were unlucky when having no winners at Newport and just 3 winners at Sir John Bayley, but a purple patch in August saw them win five consecutive games, all double figure scores. A 11-3 home win over the Champions last game wasn’t quite enough to get them 3rd place, but did see them get a record points tally.

2022 Aims:

They will look for more of the same, but will be confident given they have largely kept the same squad as 2019. Colin Beaman isn’t playing full time which is a big loss, but the signing of Andy Duckett is potentially a like for like swap. Their home form is one of the best in the league, and they will look for an unbeaten home record this season as they try and challenge at the top of the table for the league title. Their away form is improving each season and they would love that to continue.
