The 2022 Salop Leisure Shropshire Premier Bowling League Merit for the John Coxill Trophy takes place tonight with 8 players taking their place at 6.30 p.m. at Old Shrewsbury no.1 green. Callum Wraight will be looking to win it for the first time as he plays Gary Neal first game, who has been in good form himself this season and will know the green as well as Callum does. Record winner of this competition Peter Farmer will be looking to win it for the seventh time and first time since 2009 and plays Scott Simpson who lost in the final in 2016. Two team mates meet in Phil Jones and Gary Whitehall of Adderley, with Phil looking to follow his namesake in winning this trophy while Gary has more experience of competitions. The final game sees Pete Grimston play Aaron King with Pete looking to follow his brother in winning this competition and Aaron looking to go one better than his brother Jamie and uncle Dave!
The action starts at 6.30 p.m. There are programmes which cost £2 with a raffle ticket. Programme includes a Preview, Player Profiles and a tribute to John Coxill. Mike Potter is our referee and there will be live scores available here. There will also be some live coverage on our Facebook page.
