Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowls League
The Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League is proud to announce our third ever SCGBA County President in Mick Jones. He follows in the footsteps of Mike Hinton and Alan Mayhew in becoming County President for our league.
Good morning Ladies & Gentleman, County Officials and Past Presidents, my name is Rob Burroughs and I am the Chairman and treasurer amongst other roles in the Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League. I would like to nominate Mick Jones to be Shropshire Crown Green Bowling Association President for 2023. We believe Mick will be a great President for the county and represent our league with pride, just like he did last season as Deputy. We had an excellent day at Sir John Bayley last year with the Junior Merit and Peter Ashton Youth Trophy. There was some amazing bowling by our Juniors as well as great cameradie between all the players. He has enjoyed combining his role of County selector along with watching the County side reach the final last year of the Senior County Championship, and watching the Juniors and Veterans also finish runners-up. Hopefully this season we can go one better in all three competitions and make it a year to remember for Shropshire bowls as well as for Mick.

Good afternoon Ladies & Gentleman, County Officials and Past Presidents, my name is Martin Gaut and I am the secretary and Competitions Secretary of the Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League. I would like to second Rob’s nomination of Mick Jones for County President for 2023. Mick is fully deserving of this role for his all dedication and hard work for Shropshire bowls on and off the green, from being a successful captain at St Georges to being President and Chairman of our league. He will do the county and our league proud this year, and we will provide support to him throughout this year to ensure that the year goes as smoothly as possible and he receives the recognition he deserves.
