NJ Installations Hadley Open Finals Day Preview

The final 32 of the NJ Installations Hadley Open takes place tomorrow at 10.30 with a top quality field assembled. Greg Smith starts as favourite with his competition pedigree and plays Scott Moseley first up from League Champions Wrockwardine Wood. Castlefields’ Mike Beer, previous winner of the Champion of Champions, plays his namesake Paul Beer from St Georges first game, with Mike being joined by four team mates. Former Meole Open champion Paul Williams has a tough opener against another previous Meole winner Ryan Prosser, while former 25th Anniversary winner Keith Wall takes on former Hadley and Bayley bowler Steve Burroughs. Mark Taylor has the only lady qualifier in Sonya Lucas, who made two great comebacks in qualifying, while the final team mate and former Autumn Waterloo winner Jon Palmer plays former homester Simon Homer. Highley have three qualifiers, all in the same quarter, with Bruno Heath playing Tom Killen, both qualifying for their first major competition, Danny Statham, fresh from reaching the final of the Reg Miller last week, playing namesake Danny Sillitoe, and Kris Johnson against Yorkshire’s James Davison, who has won big competitions before such as the Pudsey and Rastrick Classic. The other game in the top quarter is Tom Roden, winner of our Merit and Doubles, plays Chris Gill, who has played for Newport. Two Bayley team mates collide as Ayden Smith takes on his captain Dave Lloyd, with Adderley’s Phil Jones playing veteran Gerald Merry. Another Bayley bowler in Scott Simpson, multiple winner of the Wrockwardine Wood Open, plays Merseyside’s Jamie Fitzpatrick. Matt Gilmore is another big name in the final 32, having won the All England, Isle of Man and the Meole Open amongst many other competitions, and has Kirk Stevens first round. James Wilcox has been the form man so far having qualified in all the competitions he has took part in, and plays Richard Lonnia of South Yorkshire first game. Two other team mates collide in Glynn Storer and Lee Cavill of Windmill.
