Reece Farr reached the final of the All England but losing out to Simon Coupe 11 in the final. The Highley captain had an early 9-5 lead before Simon got in the corners and with a run of 2s won the trophy for the first time. He had started off with a 9 victory over Craig Podmore, then defeated Peter Slinger 8, Harry Chapman 15, Anthony Walker 19 and Andy Hamman 14. Kevin Hocknull of Sir John Bayley got to the Quarter Finals but lost out to Robbie Ellis 19. He had beaten Tom Eccles 9, Joey Williams of Ifton 18 and Adam Weaver 13. Joey had beaten Alan Manual 10 first game. Hanwood’s Ash Wellings was the best of our Shropshire Merit qualifiers, reaching the last 16 before losing out to eventual winner Simon Coupe 9. He had beaten Tom Boyd 6 and Brian Walker 12 in his first two games. His team mate Rich Lawson was the other player to win a game, defeating James Duffin first game 17 before losing 20 to Anthony Walker after having a good lead. Jamie of Wrockwardine Wood also dipped out after leading, 20 against Darren Day, whilst Harry Church had a good comeback from 11-2 and 20-13 down to get 19 off Ian Jones of Ifton, who lost to Andy Hamman 20 next round. Josh Hale of Sir John Bayley had a fine win over Noel Burrows 18 first game but lost to Darren Day 19 next game.
