Wem face Fields, Wrockites aim to bounce back, Two in form teams meet
Bottom of the table Wem USC face Castlefields in week 20 of the Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League. Wem captain George Williams says “we welcome the Fields to Leek Street for another tough game, they have an abundance of class players who will know our green through practicing for the county over the years. We are going to have to be at our very best to get anything out of it, but I’m confident that if my team continue to believe in them self we can end the night with a good result.” Castlefields need the points at the top to close the gap on Sir John Bayley, who entertain the Bylet, who come off a narrow home win last week. Wrockwardine Wood are in 3rd and will look to bounce back from their defeat at Hanmer last week, when they host Hanwood. Skipper Rob Jones says it is a “tough game against a decent side, but at home we will be looking for a decent points haul.” Hanwood come off a good home win last week, but their form has been up and down throughout the season. The two teams below Wrockwardine Wood, Ifton and St Georges, meet in St Martins, with both in good form. St Georges captain Tony Rhodes knows it is a “tough game against one of the best sides in the league. Tough to get points there but we’ll see what we can pickup.” Adderley will be looking to take advantage of Wem’s tough home game as they host Highley for the first time, but know Highley won at Wem just two weeks ago. Burway make the long trip to Chester Road having had a good home win last week, while the Roaders come off just two winners at Hanwood. Meole Brace host Hanmer after both had good results last week. Meole will be looking to close the gap on their visitors who are still in the top half of the table.
