Mike Hinton Pairs 2024 Review

Scott Simpson and Paul Evans won the 2024 Mike Hinton Pairs for the first time after coming out on top of 15 entries. They beat Tom Killen and Will Childs in the final, leading 11-3 and 17-6 before winning 12. In the Semi Finals they defeated Jamie Brookes and Chris Stretch 14 after going 16-3 up, while Tom and Will edged out Liam Stevens and Dan Taylor 20 in a nip and tuck game, coming back from 18-14 down.

Quarter Finals

Tom Killen and Will Childs went 12-6 up on Martin Gaut and Sally King and from 15-13 up ran out.

Liam Stevens and Dan Taylor raced 8-0 up on Stuart Clee and Scott Moseley but Stuart and Scott got back to 12 across. However Liam and Dan went 20-12 up and won 14.

Scott Simpson and Paul Evans were 8-5 down against Scott Harries and Jamie King but then went 18-14 up. Scott and Jamie got back to lead 19-18 but Scott and Paul got the three they needed.

Jamie Brookes and Chris Stretch went from 6-2 down against Pete Grimston and Stuart Rutter to lead 8-6 and then 14-9. They led 20-12 before Pete and Stuart got back to 20 across. However Jamie and Chris held their nerve to get the one they needed.

1st Round

Martin Gaut and Sally King raced 10-0 up on Gus Needham and Kev Rafferty and won 5.

Liam Stevens and Dan Taylor were only 13-11 up on Alex and Gareth Jones but then ran out.

Scott Moseley and Stuart Clee were 6-1 down on Rob Roden and Martin Williams but then went 15-8 up. Rob and Martin got back to 15-12 but Scott and Stuart ran out.

Scott Harries and Jamie King were only 7-6 up on Joe Killen and Pete Farmer but then went 15-6 up and won 13.

Scott Simpson and Paul Evans were 17-3 up on Nick Wyer and Reece Farr but had to hold off a fightback at 19-16 up to win 16.

Jamie Brookes and Chris Stretch were only 12-8 ahead of Jack Hazeldine and Ian Howell but only conceded one more to win 9.

Pete Grimston and Stu Rutter were 8-5 down on Carol and Steve Faulkner but from 14-10 up they ran out.
