Bylet battle Bayley, Ifton face Fields, Horsehay have Hanmer test
The Bylet have their toughest test in week 5 of the Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League as they host the Champions Sir John Bayley, featuring their former player Scott Harries. Bylet captain Cheryl Caswell says “this is our toughest game to date but we have nothing to lose with all the eyes and expectations being on the Bayley to get a massive away win. However, we look forward to the challenge of trying to get as many points as we can and what usually turns out to be a good night with them.” Castlefields will be looking for a good home win themselves but know Ifton are coming off three straight wins. Ifton skipper Dickie Jones says “we are in good form and hopefully it continues but we know winners will be hard earned against a good Castlefields side.” Wrockwardine Wood sit behind the top two and will look for a good home win themselves against Adderley, but Adderley did beat them in the Audlem Special Events Team Alan Mayhew Trophy and come off an away win at Wem USC last week.
Horsehay face one of their longest trips to Hanmer still looking for their first win, and will take heart on how Bylet pushed them close last week. Hanmer though will be looking for an improved performance and will be hoping to have players back. Highley will want to bounce back from just two winners at Burway last week as they host Meole Brace who will also be looking for a response to their first home defeat of the season last Friday. Burway head to Hanwood with plenty of confidence after that big home win, while Hanwood are coming off three straight defeats and will want to halt that run. St Georges after a good start have had a tough week but know a big home win over Wem USC will be the perfect response, while Wem will be looking for their own response after losing their last three matches.
