Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowls League
13 clubs were represented tonight at the October meeting.
The key points at the meeting were:
- New rule proposals to go into the AGM about games at the end of the season being called off, reserves being allowed in abandoned games, registered players in the Alan Mayhew Trophy and eligibility in the Play Offs.
- Discussion was taken about B teams but this would more likely be a second potentially separate league created with teams that would like to apply for the Premier League.
- Mike Hinton Pairs to take place on Saturday 12th April with a venue to be contacted in Shrewsbury.
- The SPBL Merit will take place like this year with qualifiers on Friday 12th September and Wednesday 17th September with finals on Friday 26th September in the Shrewsbury area.
- The Presentation Evening will take place at St Georges on Friday 10th October 2025.
- The Inter Area competition will hopefully take place at Bylet (TBC) on Saturday 13th September.
- The league will start on Friday 4th April and finish on Friday 19th September.
- Wednesday games will be either Wednesday 25th June or Wednesday 2nd July and Wednesday 10th September.
- The Player of the Month will return next season with a cash prize.
