Sad News

The Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League is sad to announce the passing of our Hall of Famer Norman Harvey who passed away suddenly at the age of 78 on Monday morning.

Norman had played all his bowls in the league at Sir John Bayley, playing 610 times for them until this season from 1994. He had his best season in 2001 winning 16 games. He had won around half of those games, and was a key part in their 2016, 2019 and 2021 wins in the league. He won the Alan Mayhew Trophy in 2002 and Pool A in 2015 with them too. He has been chairman of the club, and helped them win the County Cup in 2006 and 2018, as well as many Senior Citizens titles in the last few years.

We will sadly miss Norman, and our thoughts are with his long term partner Audrey, son Lee, daughter Karen and the rest of his family.

He is pictured below collecting his Hall of Fame award from League Chairman Rob Burroughs in 2022.
