Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowls League
The 1st weekend of the Edgmond Open takes place with half the field chasing the 16 spaces on finals day on Saturday 5th April at 10.30 a.m.
Callum Wraight will be looking to win this competition for the first time as he plays in the first session along with Rich Goddard. County Handicap winner Scott Moseley takes part, as well as former Junior Merit winner Harry Church. Martin Simcock made the Quarter Finals last year, while Tom Killen and Jordan Millman will look to make their mark on the competition circuit with their first big win.
The afternoon sees a very local field with only Darrell Handley, Jon Palmer and Geriant Williams from outside Shropshire. Compeittion winners Glynn Storer, Clay Flattley, Stuart Rutter and Wayne Phillips take part. Other big name winners include Dan Taylor who has won the Staffordshire Merit, Jon Palmer the Autumn Waterloo and Darrell Handley the Moor Lane Open.
Sunday morning has former Junior Merit winners Ash Wellings, Joe Killen and Owen Evans play, while Carl Fielding has won many competitions before. Former Junior All England winner Andy Armstrong aims to qualify again like last year, and Chris Ward and Gordon Hawkins look to use all their experience.
Sunday afternoon has County Merit winners Pete Farmer, Rob Roden, Spencer Clarke and Josh Bradburn taking part, as well as former multiple Wrockwardine Wood Open winner Scott Simpson, Bylet Open champion Jamie King and Dorrington Open winner Sam Millward.
