Coors Meole Open 2025 Review

Danny Barwise came out on top of an epic final with Carl Fielding 21-20 to win the Doug Marrs Trophy. He found himself 9-2 down early on but edged his way back into it and got back to 17 across after a terrific two shot. He went 19-17 up but then Carl got back in. Carl was two on but Danny played his bowl out, and then Carl got in for two to make it 20 across. Carl led a bowl about 18 inches away which Danny just beat, but Carl left his second bowl just short which meant that Danny had made up for losing in the final 20 years ago.

The Semi Finals were two great games too. Danny defeating the favourite Greg Smith 20 after going 16-12 up and then 20-18 ahead and playing a good bowl when 2 down at 20 across. Carl defeated Leighton Roberts 18 after being 14-10 up and then running out from 18 across.

Danny has booked his place at the 2025 BCGBA Champion of Champions.
