Top three away, 5th place hopefuls meet, Hoss need a big win
All of the top three are away in week 21 of the Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League. Leaders Castlefields travel to Wem USC, looking to reverse a shock loss their last season in the first game of the season. Wem though have been on a good run lately, they have won their last 6 home games. Sir John Bayley in 2nd need a big win at Hanmer to try and gain again on the leaders. Hanmer captain Dave Ellison says “we welcome SJB to Hanmer and they don’t come any tougher as defending champions and County Cup winners. Although we are in our best current form of the season after a home win against Burway and seven winners at Bylet, we anticipate a tough game and with the weather forecast as it is at the moment a challenging green is definitely on the cards.” Wrockwardine Wood travel to Adderley, a place they haven’t won at in the league yet. Skipper Connor Whitehall says “tomorrow’s game will be a tough one for us. We have had 2 decent home results against Wrockwardine in our previous seasons, but they do have a couple of players in the side now that play for us in the Whitchurch league which could make a big difference to the final result.”
Ifton would need a big ending to get 3rd from Wrockwardine, and would need a big win over Bylet, who know they are safe for another season and could end up in 8th with a solid end to the season. St Georges currently occupy 8th and travel to Meole Brace, a point and place below them. Hanwood host Highley hoping to reclaim 5th from their visitors with 10-4 victory. Burway, below those two teams, will be hoping to take advantage of them meeting as they look for their first win in five as they travel to Horsehay, who will need a great ending to avoid bottom spot.
