Bayley aim to bounce back, Fields aim to keep gap, Horsehay need win
Sir John Bayley will be aiming to bounce back in week 22 of the Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League. Joint captain Scott Simpson knows it is a “tough test Ifton at home. Always a good night with good craic with these lads and we look forward to welcoming them. We are under no illusion that the league has potentially gone but we will do our best to push Castlefields all the way. It won’t be easy against the Welsh Boys but we will being trying out harder to put a good shift in and come away with a big W.” Ifton themselves are in a little no mans land, they will struggle to get 3rd now but aren’t in danger of being caught in 4th, but having the Bayley this week and Castlefields next week means they could play a big part in the title race. The Fields have Hanmer at home this week, and will want to at least keep the gap ahead of some tough away games to come. Hanmer should be fine to avoid bottom spot, unless Horsehay go to Wem USC and win there. But Wem come off just 5 points off their last two games, albeit against the top two. Wrockwardine Wood should be fine to finish 3rd and host a Meole Brace side who are looking to finish in 8th. Adderley are just below them and travel to a Burway side looking for their first win in 6, having dropped down from 5th to 7th. Hanwood are now in 5th and travel to Bylet who haven’t scored more than 8 in the second half of the season, but could still finish 8th with a good end to the season. Highley are level on points with Hanwood will look to take advantage as they host St Georges who are looking to finish 8th.
