Fields inflict record defeat, Bylet battle Bayley, Wrockites make no mistake
Castlefields inflicted a record home defeat on St Georges as they won there 15-1 in week 13 of the Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League. Vice-captain Ash Wellings said it was “another really good away performance from the lads.. We were hoping not to lose to much ground at the top last night but to gain 5 points is a big result for us. Both Tom Palmer and Andrew Armstrong were brilliant on the night but an all round good performance to only have 1 loser away from home is really pleasing.” Adie Rowe and Adam Jones were best winners 3 for them, while Matt Rhodes was the winner for the home side 19. Sir John Bayley had to battle to win at the Bylet, only winning by 6 chalks in a 10-6 victory. Scott Simpson was best winner 8 for them, while Ian Hopson was best for the home side 10. Wrockwardine Wood made no mistake this year with a 11-3 win over Hanwood. Best winner was Rob Roden 8 with Dave Payne best for Hanwood 5.
Ifton beat Hanmer 11-3 with captain Dickie Jones leading the way 21-7. For Hanmer it was Luke Grocott best winner 17. Woore defeated Adderley 10-4 with Andy Moss and Carl Hinton best winners 6. For the Adders it was Gary Whitehall again 21-11. Highley beat Burway 10-4 as Richard Holmes was best winner 4 for them and Kiah Roberts best for the visitors 5. Wem USC beat Meole Brace 10-4 with Darren Fitzpatrick best winner 3 and Mark Thomas best winner for Meole 7.
Castlefields are 12 clear of Sir John Bayley and another 4 clear of Wrockwardine Wood. Bylet are 18 behind Adderley and another 2 behind Hanmer. Tom Palmer leads Joe Kille and Clay Flattley on 12 wins, with Joe now having joined Tom on 10 straight wins.
