Week 16 Review

Top two win well, Meole with big win, Dragons fightback

The top two won well in week 16 of the Taylor Support Shropshire Premier Bowling League. League leaders Castlefields won 12-4 at Woore, with Callum Wraight best winner 5, and Gary Beff best for the hosts 8. Sir John Bayley went one better winning 13-3 at Adderley, Stuart Rutter leading the way 21-5. For the Adders it was Chris Stretch best winner 1. Meole Brace won 12-4 at Bylet to continue their good form this season. Best winner for them was Doug Edwards 4, while Camilla Parsonage was best for the home side 14.

St Georges fought back after a difficult couple of weeks, with a 9-5 victory over Hanwood. Ian Pessall was their best winner 12, with Hanwood’s being Matt Parry 13. Ifton also won 9-5 over Wrockwardine Wood, which probably isn’t enough to catch their visitors in 3rd. Their best winner was Ian Jones 8 to stop Joe Killen’s winning run. For the Wrockites it was Clay Flattley and Josh Cotton 13. Burway beat Hanmer 10-4 with Richard Lane best winner 9 for them and Ian Formstone 21-4 best for the away side. Gareth Davies won 0 as Wem USC beat Highley 10-4, Danny Statham best for the visitors 6.

Castlefields are 10 ahead of Sir John Bayley, and another 19 ahead of Wrockwardine Wood. Bylet are 24 behind Adderley and another point behind Hanmer. There are 4 players on 14 wins now, and Joe Killen’s run has ended at 12 straight wins.
