More success for Flowfit SPBL bowlers

It was a successful bank holiday weekend for a few of our Flowfit Shropshire Premier Bowling League bowlers. Firstly on Sunday St Georges’ Alan Palin and Newport trio Mick Jones, Kevin Keary and Dave Rhodes won the Staffordshire County Cup for Chadsmoor. It was particularly poignant for Alan Palin, who is moving to Jersey soon with work, as he received the cup. St Georges’ Keith Anderson is another SPBL bowler who has moved abroad to the USA and we wish them all the best in their new life abroad. Also in the final was Hadley USC bowler Steve Homer for runners-up Dudley Dell.

Also on Sunday Newport’s Scott Harries and Jamie King won the County Doubles beating St Georges’ Dave King and Ian Gaut 15 in the final. Out of the county Callum Wraight won two competitions, the Wharton Cons on Sunday beating Gary Ellis 31-30 in the final from 15-2 down, and then the invitational Greville Arms Classic beating Chris Brown 19 in the final.
